Board of Trustees Goals

 

Governance

The Board of Trustees in cooperation with district staff will determine and communicate high expectations for all students.

 Indicators of Success:

  • report of student achievement
  • use and management of a pacing guide
  • staff agendas / bulletins
  • procedures for orienting new staff
  • copies of district committee’s notes 

 Human Resources

The Board of Trustees in cooperation with district staff will provide opportunities to develop procedures and protocols that will allow for greater communication which will lead to trust among all stakeholders.

Indicators of Success:

  • professional development plan
  • suggestion box at each office
  • increased involvement of staff in district committees and processes
  • feedback form
  • specify organizational chart duties 

Alignment of Curriculum and Instruction

The Board of Trustees with the cooperation of district staff will establish and articulate district wide expectations for standards based instruction and student achievement.

Indicators of Success:

  • summary of classroom walk-through visits
  • all teachers will use standards- based, Board adopted materials
  • report of Benchmark data results
  • report re: student assessment

 Fiscal Resources

The Board of Trustees in cooperation with district staff will operate the district in a fiscally responsible manner.

Indicators of Success:

  • the Superintendent and Board established financial goals and guidelines so principals have a greater understanding of expenditure resources
  • the district will develop internal controls and implement budget and accounting practices
  • in order to remain fiscally solvent, the district will identify activities and expenditures in terms of “what we have to have” and “what is nice to have”.

 Parent and Community Involvement

The Board of Trustees in cooperation with district staff will increase communication with the community through the development of a district website

Indicators of Success:

  • list of methods of communication
  • sign in sheets with number of participants
  • increase parent email participation 

Goals will be reviewed annually in June
